When Students are recommended by the Master Instructor to test to a higher rank, he/she will be expected to know their designated Belt Requirements, such as, but not limited to, Poomse, Kicking Techniques, Sparring, Self-defense and Blocking Techniques. In addition, all students will be questioned on subject material discussed during or distributed after class. Students will be required to break a board with an assigned kicking or punching technique. All parts of the testing must be completed to the satisfaction of the Master Instructor and the Instructors administering the testing. Students must always show a good attitude and observe the School Rules and General Information of the school during the Promotional exam. The different Belt Colors itemized below symbolize the various stages of physical and mental development studied in the Martial Arts.

Rank Color Belt Definition
10th White A student who has limited or no knowledge of the art but has begun the journey. White being a non-color expressing a void, symbolizes Purity.
9th Yellow Development has slowly begun. Yellow represents Caution. Careful movements.
8th Green Tip The bright sun and fire. This rank represents the testing of one's Perseverance in the fire.
7th Green The student receives their first dark color representing a Desire to learn.
6th Blue Tip The student has begun to rise to a higher level of concentration, Focus and Coordination of Technique.
5th Blue The student has begun to accumulate Skill and developing Confidence.
4th Red Tip The student is now developing Speed. Techniques have a flowing motion.
3rd Red The student is combining Speed and Strength resulting in more Power. Student has begun to focus on accuracy.
2nd 1st Black Tip The student has now successfully combined Power and Accuracy. Self-confidence and Self-discipline will help the student conquer the uncertainties.
1st 2nd Black Tip The student has strengthen his/her self-confidence, Character, Attitude and Self-discipline.

The student is now preparing for Black Belt Testing. Students will recapture all they have learned and understand the Mental, Spiritual awareness as well as the Physical side. Attitude is everything.
1st Dan Black Belt Student has graduated to a high degree in the Martial Arts. There are (10) ten degrees of Black Belt. The journey begins as you define your purpose and spiritual understanding of the Art. Students begin to challenge their goals and ambitions. Character Strengthening is now within oneself which is essential to reach higher plateaus in the Martial Arts, as well as challenge life's everyday uncertainties and expectations.
