James R. Plemmons



James Plemmons is a 2nd Dan Black Belt and member of Mike's Tae Kwon Do Academy since its inception in 1994. James was the first student of our Mike's TKD Academy, starting in 1994 as a White Belt.

Mr. Plemmons recently made a special appearance by moving back to St. Louis to compete in our schools 2003 2nd Annual Mike's Tae Kwon Do Poomse Tournament in the Breaking Competition. Mr. Plemmons continued to awe the spectators with his breaking ability by taking the Silver Medal in the Men's Black Belt Division.

James Plemmons is married to Christine and they are proud parents of their 2 year old daughter Dani. James is presently a Division Manager for Sprint.

James Plemmons Outstanding Competition Career started in 1994 and completed in 1999. His accomplishments are as follows:

Sanctioned National TKD Tournaments:
  • Bronze Medal at the 1996 USTU Junior Olympics in Orland, Florida
  • Gold Medals in Sparring and Forms at the 1996 USNTF Nationals in Chicago, IL.
  • Silver Medal in Forms at the 6th USNTF Nationals in Chicago, IL.

Sanctioned USTU State TKD Tournaments:
  • Gold Medals in Sparring and Forms from 1995 through 1997 at the USTU Missouri State Championships
  • Silver Medalist in Black Belt Division in Sparring and Forms at the 1998 USTU State Championships
  • Bronze Medal in Sparring and a Gold Medal in Forms in the Senior Black Belt Division at the 1999 Missouri State Championships

Sanctioned USNTF State TKD Tournaments:
  • Gold Medalist in Sparring and Forms and Silver Medal in Breaking at the 1996 USNTF State Championships in Springfield, IL.
  • Silver Medalist in Black Belt Forms at the 1998 and 1999 USNTF State Championships in Springfield, IL.
  • 1st Place in Black Belt Sparring, Forms and Breaking at the 1997 USNTF Missouri State Championships in St. Charles, Mo.
  • 2nd Place in Forms and Breaking at the 1998 USNTF Missouri State Championships in St. Charles, Mo.

Local Tae Kwon Do Tournaments 1994-1999:
  • (3) 1st Place, (1) 2nd and (4) 3rd Place Trophies in Sparring, (5) 1st Place, (2) 2nd Place and (1) 3rd Place Trophies in Forms and (2) 1st Place and (4) 2nd Place Trophies in Breaking

Local Karate Tournaments 1996-1997:
  • (1) one 1st Place and (4) four 2nd Place Trophies in Sparring and (4) 2nd place trophies in Forms and (1) 1st place trophy in Breaking.
