When a student is recommended to test for a higher Belt Rank, he/she will be expected to know their Belt Requirements, to include but not limited to the following: Forms, Blocking/Attacking Techniques, Kicking Techniques, Two Step and Free Sparring, Self-defense Techniques, Questions & Answers, etc .
All sections of the Promotional Testing must be completed to the satisfication of the Master Instructor and the Instructors who will be assisting during the testing.
- The minimum time required for Rank advancement varies depending on the color belt. See "Class Attendance Requirements" for specific requirements for each belt.
- Additional class credits hours can be attained toward your promotional testing through the following: Assisting and/or participating during a regularly scheduled Promotional Testing; participating as a competitor, helper or Referee/Judge during a sanctioned TKD Tournament.
- Students recommended for Black Belt advancement are required to report to the Master Instructor at least two weeks prior to the test day confirming that they are ready for their Dan test.
- Students, who are unable to participate during the regularly scheduled promotional testing, must immediately notify the Master Instructor. The Master Instructor, upon consultation, may schedule a special testing, if applicable (see Promotional Testing Requirements), or double test the student at the next regularly scheduled School Promotional Testing.
- Test Fees must be paid in full prior to testing. Students will receive their new Belt and Rank Certificate once payment is made.
- Promotional Testing Fees will include the following
• Testing
• Boards/Concrete for breaking
• New Color Belt
• WTF Dan Certification from Kukkiwon.
Optional certificates include:
Dan Certification from the USNTF and
Dan Certification from Mike’s Tae Kwon Do Academy of Martial Arts.
